Raito?
August 2, 2007 at 10:39 am | In death note, rants | 6 CommentsI’m sort of confused on why a lot of Death Note fans call Light, “Raito”, instead of “Light”. I can understand people calling (for example) “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya“, “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu” because the whole title is Japanese. Raito, on the other hand, is just the English word “Light” with a Japanese accent slapped in. Why not just call him “Light”? Now, we shouldn’t really called them “weaboos” since some of them may not know better and are just following what other people do.
… Just when I thought that, I saw this.
“Raito means Light in Japanese”? That’s like watching the .hack//ROOTS dub and watching the Japanese version, and then saying “HEY! I know how to say Adept Rogue in Japanese! ‘Burakku maruchi wepon‘”. This is why you DON’T learn Japanese from ONLY anime.

Lucky Star 15 – “HENSHIN!”
August 1, 2007 at 3:07 am | In anime, kyoto animation, lucky star | 2 Comments“Kuroi-sensei~!”

Seeing Aya animated was sort of funny, esspecially done in Lucky Star’s artstyle!
Kyoto Animation seems to love giving slight nods left and right. I bet Aya Hirano fanboys were very happy with this one. (;

They’re like leeches. They’re cute. They’re fuzzy. They make you warm inside. Any guy that watches begins to notice a decrease in his testosterone level.

Check it out. Be warned that alot of my hand-drawn pictures will be taken on a webcam, which means very bad quality, due to my lack of scanner. Other than that, hope you like it. ^^;; First post is Louise from Zero no Tsukaima.

The Chipmunks… are anime fans?
July 20, 2007 at 4:47 pm | In anime, jpop, otaku lifestyle | 1 Comment
Made by this guy. Pretty amazing how, with a few programs, something epic like this could be made. The FMA (“Rewrite“) one, in my opinion, was the best of the bunch.
What’s more amazing is that The Chipmunks learned how to sing in Japanese.
Hmm, I’d like to see someone mess with the audio of “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” (NOT an anime song to those music-illiterate) and see how that comes out as. I’m laughing just thinking about it.
Sky Girls (TV) 01
July 19, 2007 at 8:00 pm | In anime, mecha, sky girls | 2 CommentsAs opposed to the OVA, the TV series dives into the explanation on how the girls joined the military instead of rushing into mecha action in the middle of their tenure like the OVA did. The “Sky Girls” logo is slightly different too.
The episode felt a little bit average to me. It was average. For the people that really didn’t like the OVA, watching the first episode wouldn’t help you get into it much since it really doesn’t grab your attention. It basically focused more on Otoha than the other two girls. Eika got the least screentime, which made me a bit sad.
Here’s the opening and ending. I guess I found the opening catchy because I found myself replaying it over 20 times. The ending is kind of annoying to me though. Compared to the OVA’s opening and ending, where I actually liked both, I found the OVA’s opening and ending music to be better.
But hey, I saw the potential in the OVA, so I guess I’ll keep watching. ^^
MOETAN 01
July 15, 2007 at 9:03 pm | In anime, moetan | Leave a CommentHere we have that anime based on the English study aid aimed at otaku, of the same name. The first book was apparently filled with lots of amusing grammar mistakes. Did the anime have any of the bad Engrish? I don’t think so. Personally, I don’t really care, but it would’ve been amusing.
